Bloomfield School District will be on a two hour delay tomorrow, December 3rd. Please be careful on the roads.
We will be on a synchronous eLearning day tomorrow, October 31. We will follow Inter Tech's recommendation on when it is safe to return. However, we will not get their recommendation until late this evening. I hope this sets our students, staff, and families up for success. Thank you for your patience and understanding
One final reminder that school picture retakes are tomorrow morning beginning at 8:10. This is for students PK - 12. Only students who have pre-registered for retakes, will be re-photographed. Please register here:
https://www.sheldonschoolpictures.com/retake-register/
Registration for retakes must be completed today. The photographer will not see any registrations that are completed tomorrow.
If your student is new to the district since August 29-30, or was absent on picture days, she/he will also be photographed tomorrow. Students new to our district do not have to pre-register.
Dear Families,
As we have continued to investigate the social media post and law enforcement agencies have worked together. Law enforcement have been able to verify the post originated in Vigo County where an arrest was made. Law enforcement has determined this is not a threat to Bloomfield Schools.
Dr. Scott Van Der Aa
Dear Families,
Our administration and law enforcement are aware of a social media post thatis currently being shared within our community. Please know that we are working closely with law enforcement and taking this matter seriously.
Out of an abundance of caution, we are implementing additional safety measures to ensure the well-being of all students and staff. While we do not believe there is any immediate danger, we remain vigilant and are committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Dr. Scott Van Der Aa
Parents/Guardians: If you have not yet completed this year's student registration via the Harmony link, please do so right away. Completing your student's registration every year is important in maintaining correct contact information, pick-up/drop-off information, field trips, allowed medications and more. Please check Harmony and make sure all registration notes have a green checkmark beside them. All students should be completely registered by 9-20-24. Harmony codes were sent out via email. If your email is not up to date on Harmony, you will need to contact the office for the code. You are welcome to contact our office staff at 812-384-4550 if you have any questions. Thank you!

Staff Member of the Week - 08.16.2024
Jerry Rowe has been an essential contributor to the success of our custodial team since joining our school district in the Fall of 2023. He stepped up during a critical staffing shortage and has since demonstrated an exceptional work ethic and unwavering commitment to his duties. Jerry never complains and consistently takes initiative, ensuring that tasks are handled promptly and efficiently. His shift begins at the end of the school day, focusing primarily on the lower A hallway in the high school. However, he is always willing to lend a hand wherever needed, and before leaving, he checks in with his co-workers to offer assistance. Jerry has fostered strong, positive relationships with both staff and students, and his contagious smile and genuine spirit of service truly embody the qualities we value. He is an all-around great person to work with, making him an outstanding candidate for this recognition. We are deeply grateful for his integrity and the positive impact he continues to make in our community.
We sincerely thank Habig Injury Law for partnering with BSD to recognize and reward our Staff Members of the Week. Pictured here are Superintendent Dr. Van Der Aa, Tim Cochren (Partner at Habig Law), Jerry Rowe, and Jonas Johnson (Custodial Director).

Here's a way you can help our schools.
